The Library at TVM College of Education is the intellectual heart of the institution—a dynamic hub of learning, research, and academic exploration. Designed to support the curriculum, enhance teaching methodologies, and inspire self-directed learning, the library is a vital space for both students and faculty. Spanning over 5000 square feet, the library is housed in the main building and features a serene, well-lit, and organized space that fosters reading, research, and reflection. Whether it’s preparing for exams, engaging in subject-specific study, or accessing rare references, our library ensures that students are never short of resources.

Collection Highlights

Total Volumes - Over 17,238 books

Titles Covered - More than 3,250 distinct titles

Digital & Multimedia Section

A dedicated Audio-Visual Section featuring: Over 1000+ CD/DVD-ROMs on various subjects and educational tools. Language learning materials, soft skill enhancement modules, and competitive exam guides. Internet-enabled multimedia computers allow students to: Browse academic databases Access e-books and online journals Prepare for exams like TET, CTET, TNPSC, NET, SET, GRE, TOEFL, and GMAT

Library Services

Open Access System - Students can freely browse shelves to explore and select books of interest.

Reprography (Xerox & Printing) - Available for students to take copies of reference material.

Reading Hall - Quiet, air-cooled reading space with over 100 seating capacity for uninterrupted study.

Circulation Desk - Quick and efficient book borrowing and return service using barcode ID cards.

Reservation & Renewal - Books can be reserved online or through library registers for future borrowing.

Rules & Usage Guidelines

Students and staff must carry valid ID cards to enter and access library services.

All users must sign the entry register at the entrance.

Mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the library to maintain decorum.

Borrowed books must be returned within 15 days of issue; overdue charges apply at ₹1 per day

Reference books, journals, magazines, and newspapers are for in-library use only and not available for external borrowing.

Students are expected to handle books with care; damaged or lost books must be replaced or compensated as per library norms.

The library is a shared academic resource and students are encouraged to treat it as a national asset.

Support for Research & Projects

The library supports students in their lesson planning, academic assignments, dissertations, and internship reports.

Access to past university question papers, model lesson plans, and practical records

Guides and manuals are provided to assist in action research, micro-teaching, and pedagogy-specific innovations..
